Creating OKRs
How to add objectives and key results in StartConsole.
OKRs in StartConsole are structured as objectives with one or more key results beneath them. Objectives describe a qualitative goal. Key results are measurable outcomes that indicate progress toward that goal. Both live on the OKRs page and feed into the dashboard's OKR health panel.
Creating an objective
- 1
Go to the OKRs page
Click OKRs in the left sidebar. You will see a list of all objectives for your organization, grouped by quarter if quarterly OKRs are enabled.
- 2
Click New Objective
Click the New Objective button in the top-right corner of the OKRs page.
- 3
Enter the objective title
Type an objective title in the Title field (e.g. 'Accelerate new market entry'). Objectives are qualitative — describe the desired outcome, not the activity. Optionally assign an owner and a quarter. Click Save.
Adding key results
With the objective created, click on it to open the objective detail view. Click Add Key Result and choose a key result type:
- Numeric — tracks a number from a start value to a target value (e.g. increase ARR from £2M to £3M). Enter Start Value and Target Value.
- Milestone — tracks completion of a specific deliverable (e.g. launch new pricing page). Toggle to complete when done.
- Progress — tracks a percentage from 0% to 100% that you update manually each check-in.
For each key result, enter a Name, assign an Owner, and set a due date if applicable. Save each key result individually.
