Configuring Signals
How to adjust signal sensitivity settings for your organisation.
StartConsole allows organisation Admins to control which signal categories are active for their portfolio. This lets you tailor signal monitoring to the types of conditions your organisation wants to track.
Signal configuration requires the Admin role. If you do not see the Signals section in Organisation Settings, ask your Admin to make the changes on your behalf.
Navigating to signal settings
- Click your organisation name or your avatar in the top-right corner to open the settings menu.
- Select Settings.
- In the settings sidebar, click Organisation.
- Scroll down to the Signals section on the Organisation settings page.
Enabling and disabling signal categories
The Signals section lists all available signal categories — for example, Budget, Delivery, OKR Progress, Capacity, and Dependency. Each category has a toggle switch.
- Toggle on to activate that category. StartConsole will raise flags when it detects conditions in that category across your initiatives.
- Toggle off to deactivate that category. No signals will be raised for that category until it is re-enabled.
Changes apply to all users in the organisation immediately after saving.
Signal configuration changes take effect on the next signal computation cycle. Signals raised before you made a change will remain visible until they are resolved or cleared.
Deciding which categories to enable
Enable the categories that align with the governance questions your leadership team asks most often. If your organisation reviews budget in every SteerCo, keeping Budget signals on ensures overruns surface automatically. If capacity planning is managed in a separate tool, you may choose to disable Capacity signals to reduce noise.
