StartConsole for CPOs
The pages and actions a CPO uses in StartConsole.
As CPO, StartConsole connects your product strategy to delivery. You use it to set and track product OKRs, manage the product initiative portfolio, monitor delivery progress against roadmap commitments, and oversee the gate approvals for new product investments.
Pages you will use most
OKRs — Your product strategy is expressed through OKRs in StartConsole. The OKRs page shows each objective, its key results, current actuals, and progress toward target. Use this to run your quarterly OKR review and to check in-period progress each month.
Initiatives (filtered by product pillar) — Filter the Portfolio view to your product pillar to see all active product initiatives. Each initiative shows RAG status, owner, signal count, and delivery progress at a glance.
Roadmap view — The Roadmap shows product initiatives plotted across time. Use it during quarterly planning to sequence delivery, identify conflicting commitments, and communicate the product roadmap to stakeholders.
Gate reviews (product bets) — New product initiatives go through gate reviews before significant investment. Review and approve gate submissions for product-led initiatives, assessing strategic fit, expected value, and delivery feasibility.
Key actions by cadence
Weekly: Check OKR progress for any key results that have moved significantly. Review signals on active product initiatives — particularly Delivery signals that indicate a roadmap commitment is at risk.
Monthly: Run an OKR check-in with the product team. Update key result actuals in StartConsole and assess whether any objectives need to be adjusted given delivery realities.
Quarterly: Set the next quarter's OKRs using the OKRs page. Link new product initiatives to the relevant objectives. Review the Roadmap view to confirm sequencing and resource fit.
Notifications you will receive
- OKR RAG changes — when a key result's status shifts to Amber or Red, a notification is sent to the responsible owner and relevant stakeholders
- Deliverable milestones — when a significant product deliverable is marked complete or flagged as delayed, a notification surfaces the change
