Handling Emergency Reviews
How to fast-track an urgent initiative review in StartConsole.
Occasionally a piece of work cannot wait for the next scheduled gate review cycle. A regulatory requirement lands, a market opportunity appears, or a critical risk demands immediate action. StartConsole does not have a separate emergency workflow — you use the same gate process, compressed, with explicit urgency markers so reviewers know to act immediately.

- 1
Create the initiative with status Proposed and mark priority High
Navigate to Initiatives and create a new initiative record. Set the status to Proposed (it must go through gate, even in an emergency) and set the priority to High. The High priority flag makes the initiative visible at the top of filtered views and signals to approvers that this is not routine.
- 2
Tag the relevant approvers via the owner field
Set the initiative owner to the primary approver responsible for the emergency review. If multiple approvers need to be involved, note the additional names in the initiative description or in a comment on the record. StartConsole will notify the assigned owner immediately on creation.
- 3
Open Gate Approvals — use filter to find the initiative
Navigate to the Gate Approvals screen and apply a priority filter to show High priority proposals. The emergency initiative will appear at the top of the filtered list. Share the Gate Approvals screen with the review group — this is the working surface for the emergency review session.
