Assignment Tracking & Days Open
How StartConsole tracks when items are assigned, reassigned, and how long they have been open.
StartConsole logs every ownership change across your portfolio. When an initiative, deliverable, objective, or dependency is assigned to someone, the system records who was assigned, when, and by whom. This creates a full audit trail of accountability.
Days Open
The Days Open column on every My Work tab shows how many days each item has been assigned to you. This is calculated from the moment the item was assigned, not from when it was created.
- Items open for more than 30 days appear in red
- Items open for more than 14 days appear in amber
- Items open for fewer than 14 days appear in the default colour
Reassignment tracking
When an item is reassigned from one person to another, the previous assignment is closed (marked with an end date) and a new assignment is created. This means the Days Open counter resets for the new owner, while the history of the previous owner's tenure is preserved.
Target date changes
StartConsole also tracks every change to target dates. If a deliverable's go-live date is moved, or a dependency's target resolution date is changed, the system records the old date, the new date, and who made the change. This creates visibility into moving targets.
Assignment history and target date changes are logged automatically. No additional setup is required.
